[A classic fable with a twist]
Summer’s here. The sun shines on nature’s wonders, grass grows green and proud, and the land is filled with life.
The ant works hard, as she must prepare for the upcoming winter. She does little but pick up small pieces of grass or fallen leafs during the day, and by nighttime she must rest, for another day of collecting goods is on its way. Pity she has no time to enjoy summer – to smell the freshly cur grass, or feel the warmth of the sunlight on her skin.
The grasshopper loves summer. He wouldn’t dare not to spend every waking minute enjoying summer – smelling the freshly cut grass, and feeling the warmth of the sunlight on his skin. He does nothing to prepare for winter. The current summer is way too important to worry about that.
Winter’s here. White has conquered the lands, and snow flakes are now part of the air everyone breathes. The landscape is dull and lifeless.
The ant has an easy life. She spends her days locked away, far from the threatening cold. She’s proud of herself, as she has collected enough goods to last through the entire cold season. She’s bored. She wishes she had this amount of free time during summer: a season she could relish. She’s not happy.
The grasshopper has a rough life during winter. Supplies are rare when snow owns the landscape. He must dedicate day and night to find enough to survive. There’s no time to hate winter. There’s no time to miss summer.
